STATE ACCOUNTING COMPETITION: (April 19, 2001)
The State Accounting Contest will be hosted by Fort Dale Academy on Thursday, April 19, 2001.  Mrs. Pat Skipper, Accounting and Technology Teacher at Fort Dale Academy, is coordinating this event once again for AISA.  The Association appreciates the support of Mrs. Skipper and David Brantley, Fort Dale Headmaster, in hosting this great competition.  Participating schools should arrive at Fort Dale by 9:30 a.m. for registration, etc., so that the contest can begin promptly at 10:00 a.m.

ATTENTION ELEMENTARY CHOIR DIRECTORS AND HEADMASTERS:
Please be reminded that the Elementary Choral Festival will be hosted by Hooper Academy this year on Friday, April 20.  Send your registration form to Mr. Jim Christensen, Choral Director, Hooper Academy.  (Choral fees are to be sent to Mrs. Linda Faust at the AISA office.)

Information is enclosed concerning SGA elections for 2001-2002; Applications for SGA Leadership Scholarships; Information concerning Teachers of the Year nomination;  criteria for Judging SGA Scrapbooks; and criteria for Judging Best SGA. Deadlines follow:

Campaigning:  1. No taping of signs on painted walls.   
  2. Only one sign (regular poster size) per
    candidate. 
  3. Handouts - no limit.
  4. Sign must not be larger than poster size.

STATE BASEBALL TOURNAMENT:
The tournament will be held at Bloch Park, Selma, AL, on May 9-12, 2001.  Play starts at 10:00 a.m. (A) on Wednesday; 10:00 a.m. (AAA) on Thursday; 9:00 a.m. (AA) on Friday; and 11:00 a.m. (AAA) on Saturday. Admission is $5.00 for the entire day.

SOFTBALL
ATTENTION SOFTBALL COACHES:
The State Tournament is on May 4-5, 2001.  Correct our mistake on the bracket sheet.

TIE BREAKER:

While using the tie-breaker, each half-inning begins by placing a runner on second base.  That runner is the player in the batting order who precedes the lead-off batter in that inning.  Then the game proceeds a full inning or until a winner is determined in that inning.  Read page 74 in your Softball Rules Book.

STATE SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT:
Support your team.  Attend the State Softball Tournament at Lagoon Park, Montgomery, AL.  May 4-5, 2001.  Play starts at 10:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.  Admission $5.00 for the entire day.

ATTENTION VOLLEYBALL COACHES AND AD's:
There will be a State Volleyball Schedule meeting for the 2001 season in the AISA office on April 19 at 10:00 a.m. due to many new teams coming in.  Someone needs to be presents from your school at the meeting.

ATTENTION AD's:
If your school did not play volleyball last year, but your school plans to play next year call the AISA office.  We need to put you in an area where you can schedule your games.

GOLF

ATTENTION AD'S AND GOLF COACHES:
All day golf tournaments on a weekly basis cannot be allowed.  Please try to schedule all interscholastic competition after school.

TRACK
STATE TRACK MEET:

Morgan Academy will serve as host for this competition.  The State Track Meet will be held at Jordan Memorial Stadium in Selma, AL, on April 26-27, 2001.  Admission $5.00.
