IMPORTANT REMINDER CONCERNING SAT TESTING:
All headmasters, guidance counselors, and teachers in AISA are reminded of the
need for careful and professional test security as we approach the April testing
date. Be very sure that tests are kept securely locked until the day of
testing, tests and answer sheets should be collected and secured, as soon as
testing concludes each day.
It is appropriate to have in-service sessions to prepare for testing.
These sessions should be used to ensure that teachers are very familiar with the
directions for administration, the procedures for testing, and with timing and
other considerations. Under no circumstances should teachers have the
actual test that students will take, except on the days the tests are
administered.
Be reminded that all of us should take the necessary steps, however, to ensure
that all students have been taught for mastery all skills on which they will be
tested in April. The Compendium of Objectives, the Practice tests, and the
various test-prep materials are are appropriate and necessary for use at this
time.
ATHLETIC DIRECTOR NOTES
ATTENTION COACHES:
To: AISA Football Coaches
From: John Faircloth / Don Hand
Re: Player Promotion
Coach, marketing your college prospect becomes more and more difficult each year. The challenge we face in this process is an image factor. The word is out that AISA players coming from small programs can't play and usually quit when given an opportunity. The fact is that many AISA athletes have excelled at all levels. We must do a better job of marketing our players who really want to play.
Let's get organized. Let's select the top dozen or so senior football players
who can and will play college football if given an opportunity. I am proposing
that you do the following, if interested, or if you have a talent on your team:
1). Complete the enclosed Player Promo Form and return to the AISA office by May
31, 2001.
2). Enclose a quality 5x7 color photo of the player. A bust photo is preferred.
3). Enclose a check for $50.00 made payable to the AISA.
The AISA will do the following:
1). Develop a slick paper AISA Football Prospect Brochure compiling all selected
football players.2). This info package will be sent to all football playing colleges and/or
universities in Alabama. Note: We will send info packages on request basis to
other locations.
3). This info package will be sent to all the major media in the state.
Coach, before submitting a prospect for the AISA Promo Program, have a sincere and factual conversation about what it takes to play at the next level with him. We must promote those that can and will play.
ATTENTION COACHES:
Ron Ingram of the Birmingham News requests that you call your games in on a
regular basis and update him every Monday a.m. He needs your record,
scores, etc. for state ranking and outstanding player purposes.
You may:
Call at 1-800-283-4024
FAX at (205) 325-2425
Email to RIngram@BhamNews.com
Coaches, let's publicize our programs and players. Thanks!
