"Spotlight on Technology"
This is a SPACE CAMP® program. Information about the program,
which includes operational Information, pre and post curriculum ideas, and some fundraising

Completed nomination forms with required documentation must reach the AISA

AISA SUMMER SCHOOL PERMISSION FORM:
STATE ACCOUNTING COMPETITION:
The State Accounting Contest for 2000-2001 was hosted by Fort Dale
Academy on Thursday, April 19, 2001. Mrs. Pat Skipper, Accounting and
Technology Teacher at Fort Dale, chaired very successful event.

ELEMENTARY CHORAL FESTIVAL WAS A CELEBRATION OF EXCELLENCE!
The AISA State Choral Music Festival for Elementary Grades was hosted by
Hooper Academy on Friday, April 20, 2001. The day went very well!
Hooper Choral Director Jim Christensen; Headmaster Robert Andress; and
Administrative Assistant Susan Brown led a host of Hooper parents and students
in ensuring that the day went well.
Elementary choral directors and their students are congratulated for great
performances. The excellent ratings from the three judges follow:

ART SHOW SET FOR WEDNESDAY, APRIL 25, 2001:
Schools will bring art work to the AISA State Art Show on Wednesday at Russell
Dining Hall on the Huntingdon Campus. Set up time will be from 8:00 a.m.
until 10:00 a.m. Judging will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m., and should
conclude between 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. The exhibit hall will be open
for public viewing for 30 minutes after the judges finish. Exhibits may be
removed only after 30 minutes of public viewing.

STATE BASEBALL TOURNAMENT:
The tournament will be held at Bloch Park, Selma, AL, on May 9-12, 2001.
Play starts at 10:00 a.m. (A) on Wednesday; 10:00 a.m. (AAA) on Thursday; 9:00
a.m. (AA) on Friday; and 11:00 a.m. (AAA) on Saturday. Admission is $5.00 for
the entire day.

SOFTBALL
ATTENTION SOFTBALL COACHES:
The State Tournament is on May 4-5, 2001. Correct
our mistake on the bracket sheet.
TIE BREAKER:
While using the tie-breaker, each half-inning begins by placing a runner on
second base. That runner is the player in the batting order who precedes
the lead-off batter in that inning. Then the game proceeds a full inning
or until a winner is determined in that inning. Read page 74 in your
Softball Rules Book.
STATE SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT:
Support your team. Attend the State Softball Tournament at Lagoon Park,
Montgomery, AL. May 4-5, 2001. Play starts at 10:00 a.m. on Friday
and Saturday. Admission $5.00 for the entire day.

All day golf tournaments on a weekly basis cannot be allowed. Please try
to schedule all interscholastic competition after school.
TRACK
STATE TRACK MEET:
Morgan Academy will serve as host for this competition. The State Track
Meet will be held at Jordan Memorial Stadium in Selma, AL, on April 26-27,
2001. Admission $5.00.
