62nd ANNUAL ALABAMA BETA CLUB CONVENTION

Abbeville Christian Academy's Hayley Wofford was elected Vice President and Monroe Academy's
Julie Stuckey was elected as Secretary.  2,900 Beta Club members from across the state attended.

May 8 - 11 State Baseball Tournament in Selma, Final 4 starts at 10:00 a.m.  Coaches bring two (2) sets of rosters to Selma and give to Don hand.
May 18 All-Star softball and Baseball game at Huntingdon College May 18, 2002 at 1:00 p.m.  Turn your nomination forms in by April 29, 2002.  Before you nominate a player be sure he or she can play on this day (May 18, 2002.)

BASEBALL & SOFTBALL:

ATTENTION BASEBALL / SOFTBALL COACHES:
Baseball and Softball regular season gate prices are $3.00 Adults / $2.00 Students and Tournament prices are
$4.00 Adults / $3.00 Students.

BASEBALL COACHES:
A pitcher has to rest two days after he pitches 7 innings.  Example:  If he pitches on Monday for 7 innings he must
rest Tuesday and Wednesday.

BASEBALL COACHES:
Page 68 IV-D - AISA member schools may participate in three (3) invitational tournaments.
All invitational tournaments will count on your overall record in baseball and softball.
All tournaments must be sanctioned in writing to the AISA office. 

SOFTBALL TO BE USED IN STATE TOURNAMENT:
The Softball that the AISA will use in the State Tournament will be the Worth-Hot Seam-Red Dot Leather - Cor. 47 PX-2RYL

Macon-East Montgomery Academy
will host the State JV baseball tournament April 19th and 20th.  All records should be turned in by
April 11th to Glynn Lott, at MEMA.  The tournament will be a single elimination.  The number of teams will be determined at a later date,
considering the number of fields available. 

FINAL FOUR BASEBALL TOURNAMENT:

SOFTBALL COACHES:
AISA will use the 12" yellow high seam softball.

Morgan Academy will be hosting track meets on the following dates:  March 18, April 8 and April 15.  Entry fee is $30.00
per school meet.  Call Coach Robinson for specific information at (334) 875-9466.  A Scratch Meeting is scheduled for
12:30 p.m. prior to each event.  The field events will start at 1:00 p.m.


GOLF:

ATTENTION GOLF COACHES:

The AISA State Golf Championship will be held on April 29 and 30, 2002, at Robert Trent Golf Course in
Greenville. 

Motels in Greenville -- Hampton Inn 334-382-9631, Best Western 334-382-9200 and Days Inn 334-382-2651.

The AISA State Golf Tournament will play the next two years on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Courses.
The courses that the AISA will play is the Loblolly and Canyon. 
 
Policy of the AISA:  Spectators will not be allowed to use golf carts at the State Golf Tournament.
