HEADMASTER ANNOUNCEMENTS

IMPORTANT REMINDER CONCERNING SAT TESTING:
All headmasters, guidance counselors, and teachers in AISA are reminded of the need for careful and professional test security as we
approach the April testing date.  Be very sure that tests are kept securely locked until the day of testing, tests and answer sheets should
be collected and secured, as soon as testing concludes each day.

It is appropriate to have in-service sessions to prepare for testing.  These sessions should be used to ensure that teachers are very familiar
with the directions for administration, the procedures for testing, and with timing and other considerations.  Under no circumstances
should teachers have the actual test that students will take, except on the days the tests are administered.

Be reminded that all of us should take the necessary steps, however, to ensure that all students have been taught for mastery all skills
on which they will be tested in April.  The Compendium of Objectives, the Practice tests, and the various test-prep materials are
appropriate and necessary for use at this time.

2002 Professional Development Day:
Please survey your teachers for suggestions, ideas, potential presenters/topics, potential exhibitors, etc.
and forward to Don Oswald, AISA office.

HEADMASTERS:
Please make sure appropriate personnel have copies of information in the Academic Handbook pertaining to academic competitions,
festivals, and fairs.

Changes for the 2001 - 2002 School Year

(Approved by the AISA Council on 9-5-01)

The top eight of the nine District school winners will be allowed to enter state competition.
The ranking and seeding will be based on the following:

a). The top eight (8) winning teams with the highest average number of points scored per game in District Competition will be seeded in order from highest to lowest.

b). If a tie exists - the winning team with the highest won - lost percentage record in District Competition would be awarded  the position effected by the tie. Continue this tiebreaker if applicable for seeding the rest of the bracket.

Note!
If a District Competition is not held and there is a proposed entry from that district, then entry and seed qualifications will be based on their average number of points scored per game during the year.

c). If still tied then the concerned team(s) will be seeded on their total won-lost percentage record for the year.

d). If still tied a flip of the coin will determine the seed
