The AISA Hall of Fame Banquet and Induction Ceremony will be held on March 5,
2001 at the Civic Center in Montgomery. Nominees must be into the AISA Office by
January 5, 2001. Call the AISA for an official Nomination Form. Let's support
this excellent program. Recognize and honor your extraordinary leaders, alumni
and/or contributors by placing their names in nomination.

ATTENTION DISTRICT SPELLING BEE
HOSTS:
Please FAX the name and address of the Pronouncer for District Competition to
the AISA office as soon as possible. The Spelling Bee is earlier this
year; therefore, we need to get lists to Pronouncers
before Christmas Holidays. The District Contests will be held on January
30, 2001.

AISA ATHLETIC POLICY:
Attention
Football Coaches! Last Game Policy: Schools having
student-athletes ejected for conduct violations during their last regular season
game, and/or last play-off game in any sport will be fined & $200.00 per
ejection. This policy became effective with the AISA interscholastic
winter sports program during the 1998-99 school year.

The American
General Player of the Year Banquet has been changed from November 28 to December
4, 2000.

AISA office. Each school needs to get its basketball schedule to the
appropriate coordinator.

AISA Maximum charges for admission to AISA basketball games are:
Varsity - $4.00 Adults / $2.00 Students
Below Varsity - $2.00 Adults / $2.00 Students
Varsity Tournaments - $4.00 Adults / $2.00 Students
Jr. High Tournaments - $3.00 Adults / $2.00 Students
ATTENTION BASKETBALL COACHES:
There will be a $25.00 fine if the coordinator is not notified two weeks in
advance of a change in your basketball schedule. This will be paid to the
coordinator. This will take effect on December 4, 2000.

Cottage Hill needs varsity girls/boys basketball games for November 16 and
December 5.

ATTENTION
BASKETBALL COACHES AND AD'S:
AISA Policy -
The following procedure will be followed by all AISA schools when four or more
basketball games are scheduled on a game day/night:
Pee Wee play - finish by 3:50 p.m.
Junior High girls - start at 4:00 p.m. - allow 4 minutes only for halftime. If 2nd half starts after the half hour, then limit 3rd and 4th quarters to 5 minutes each.
If starting on the hour
is a problem, cut warm-ups to a maximum of eight (8) minutes. Note: Policy
applies to regulation play only. If overtime occurs, play it out.
THE OFFICIAL
BASKETBALL:
The Spalding
1000 wide channel is the adopted basketball that will be used for the state
tournament and the All-Star game. Local schools can determine the use of any
basketball for their home games as long as it meets the National Federal Rule.
