Award will be given by the AISA to schools that meet certain criteria.

ORATORICAL CONTESTS:
District Contests are scheduled for November 2, and the State contest will be
held on November 9. This year's topic is: "The Impact of TECHNOLOGY on The
American Family." We anticipate great participation. The state contest will
be held in Flowers Chapel on the Huntingdon College campus. 9:30 a.m.

ALL STAR SELECTION COMMITTEE:
The All Star Football player Selection Committee will meet in the AISA office at
10:00 a.m. on November 8, 2000. Read pages 31-32 in the AISA Athletic Handbook
to determine committee membership.
VOLLEYBALL
ATTENTION VOLLEYBALL COACHES:
Be sure to get your entry form into the state office along with a roster by 9:00
a.m. on October 25, 2000. The roster that you send will be in our State
Tournament Program. See Enclosures.
STATE VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT:
The State Volleyball Tournament will be held at Huntingdon College on October 28
beginning at 10:00 a.m. Admission is $5.00 per person. Brackets Enclosed.
ATTENTION VOLLEYBALL COACHES:
Both of the East teams hosting the region Volleyball Tournament will be
responsible for (1) Faxing to the AISA office the Winner and Runner-up of the
Tournament (2) Faxing the Rosters of the Winner and Runner-up to the ASIA office
and (3) Records of these schools who are advancing to the State Tournament
(In-class and Overall) must be sent in also.
VOLLEYBALL COACHES:
Read pages 33 to 38 in your Athletic Handbook. The Financial Form that
must be submitted to the AISA office by the Host schools is in the back of the Athletic
Handbook.
Volleyball All Star Information is enclosed.
ALL STAR VOLLEYBALL GAME:
The All-Star game will be held at Morgan Academy on November 4, 2000 at
2:00 p.m. Admission is $5.00 per person.
ATTENTION VOLLEYBALL COACHES:
Regional Tournament Play will follow the procedure stated in the Athletic
Handbook on Page 35, VII A. and page 36.
FOOTBALL
ALL STAR FOOTBALL PLAYERS:
Coaches, please read pages 31-32 in the AISA Athletic Handbook. Get your
All Star nomination(s) into the ASIA office by November 3, 2000. Please use a
copy of the All Star Football Nomination form located in the appendix of the
Athletic Handbook to make your nominations.
FOOTBALL COACHES:
Coaches of play-off teams must bring to the state meeting on October 28,
2000 a team picture, roster, and a picture of their cheerleaders with a list of
their names.
ATTENTION:
HELP! Name the Football Championship CONTEST. We need an
"eye-catching" name for our Football Championship - Triple-Header to
be held at Troy State University on November 17, 2000. Fax or E-mail suggestions
to the AISA office by August 25, 2000. The winning entry will receive four (4)
tickets to the game.

The American General Player of the Year Banquet has been changed from November
28 to December 4, 2000.
FOOTBALL PLAY-OFF MEETING SCHEDULED:
Play-off meeting is scheduled for Saturday, October 30, 2000, at 10:00 a.m., in
the AISA Office.
Attendance is required for all teams entering the play-offs. A
$100.00 fine will be assessed to any required school not in attendance. Refer to
Rule VI-E, page 30, of your AISA Athletic Handbook.

local media. Try to get scores on the wire service.
WRESTLING
BASKETBALL
Pee Wee play - finish by 3:50 .m.
Junior High girls - start at 4:00 p.m. - allow 4 minutes only for halftime - If 2nd half starts after the half hour then limit 3rd and 4th quarters to 5 minutes each.
If starting on the hour is a problem, cut warm-ups to a maximum of eight (8) minutes. Note: Policy applies to regulation play only, if overtime occurs play it out.
THE OFFICIAL BASKETBALL:
The Spalding 1000 wide channel is the adopted basketball that will be
used for the state tournament and the All-Star game. Local schools can determine
the use of any basketball for their home games as long as it meets the National
Federal Rules.

Re: All Star Volleyball Match
The 2000 AISA All Star Volleyball Match will be hosted by Morgan Academy in
Selma, Alabama.
A. Teams:
1. The teams will be composed of players from the East and West.
B. Coaches:
1. The two coaches who advance the farthest in State Tournament play will coach the all-stars.
2. Coaches must be a full-time salaried faculty member of their school.
C. Players:
1. Only senior athletes who are candidates for graduation during the current
school year
may be nominated or selected
2. Each team will be composed of 12 players.
3. Each AISA member school will receive an AISA nomination form for the team.
Coaches will nominate only quality players for the honor.
4. No school may have more than 3 players selected to participate in the all-star match.
D. General Information for All-Star Match
1. Each athlete will be insured for the all-star match.
2. Players and coaches should bring their own equipment for practice.
Matching
uniforms will be furnished.
3. Admission will be established each year by the AISA Athletic Committee.
4. Each school will be billed for the participant (s) selected to play in the
all-star match.
The fee will be established by the AISA Athletic Committee.
5. All athletes selected for the all-star teams will play in the
all-star match.
6. The AISA reserves the right to test any student-athlete selected to
participate in the all-star match for illegal drugs.
E. Times and dates for players to report and play
1. The match will be played on the Saturday following the State Tournament. This
year
the date would be November 4. Match time will be 2:00.
2. The format of play will be the best 3 of 5.
3. Teams will practice on Saturday prior to the match. The East region team
will
practice at Morgan Academy from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. on November 4. The
West region team will practice at Morgan Academy from 10:15 a.m. until 11:00
a.m.
on November 4.
4. Players will have an all-star lunch at 12:00 noon at Morgan Academy to
receive
special recognition and their watches.
