COMPENDIUM OF INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES:
Headmasters:  It is time to ensure that teachers have incorporated all objectives that are on tested on Stanford 9 into their Courses of Study and into their lesson plans.  Please be sure that the two copies of the Compendium of Instructional Objectives for Stanford 9 have been located at your school, and that teachers are using them in planning for teaching.  Skills and objectives tested at a given grade level need to be introduced the year before testing, and taught for mastery (reviewed) the year of testing (before April).

HEADMASTERS:
Please make sure appropriate personnel have copies of information in the Academic Handbook pertaining to academic competitions, festivals, and fairs.

2001-2002 STUDENT INSURANCE:
The deadline for submitting the AISA Base Plan Participation Form for student insurance was July 5.  The following schools will be 
covered effective August 13, 2001:

ATTENTION:
COUNCIL MEETING WILL BE HELD IN THE AISA OFFICE ON SEPTEMBER 5 AT 10:00 A.M.

ATTENTION TEACHERS:

SGA FALL WORKSHOP SET:
The SGA Fall Workshop will be held at Huntingdon College on Tuesday, September 18, 2001.  Registration will be from 9:30 until 10:00 a.m. in the lobby of Flowers Hall.  The $75.00 annual SGA dues will be collected at the Registration Table. The meeting will be called to order promptly at 10:00 a.m. and will conclude by noon.  Important district meetings will be included in the program.  Each SGA sponsor may bring the 2001-2002 officers to the workshop (up to 10 people, including the sponsor).  Appropriate attire for participants will be jeans and tee-shirts (or other clothing that is normally worn to school).  Tee-shirts with the school or SGA will be great, but not required.

ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATORS FOR DISTRICT COMPETITION:
We need to receive information concerning district academic competition, leadership, and district competition sites, immediately.  Forms were provided to you at the annual meeting.  Nine Districts are the same as last year.

REMINDER TO SCHOOLS VISITED FOR AISA ACCREDITATION IN 2000-2001:
Some schools that were visited for accreditation in 2000-2001 have provided documentation to clear Priorities and written responses to the Recommendations of the Visiting Committee.  Priorities must be cleared and responses to Recommendations must be provided by August 31, 2001.

Professional Personnel Reports are due in the AISA office as early in September as possible.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY UPDATE: 
"Raising the Bar of Academic Performance" is the theme selected by the Professional Development Day Planning Committee for this year's conference on Monday, October 1, 2001.  The Committee had an excellent meeting recently under the leadership of Mr. David Weir, Chairperson.  Dr. John Ed Mathison, Pastor of Frazer, will give the keynote address.  Planning Committee will meet on September 6, at 10:00 a.m. in the AISA Office, 3rd floor, Massey Hall, at Huntingdon College.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY:
The Professional Development Day Registration materials have been sent out.  The Professional Development Day Registration Form is due in the AISA Office by Friday, September 7.  Please be sure to register by SESSION NUMBER.  Also, it will be helpful if participants' names and choices of sessions are typed or printed clearly to facilitate our making name tags. Thanks!

PARKING FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY:
Headmasters are requested to form car pools to reduce the number of spaces required for AISA personnel on October 1.  Please be reminded that there is parking available behind the Embassy Suites Hotel.

PDD EXHIBITORS:
Over 100 vendors and/or organizations committed to exhibit on October 1.  Please visit their exhibits, and use their goods and services.  They are are supporters.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY LODGING:

Holiday Inn Group Rate of $69.00 for a king or double plus lodging tax (currently 11%).  Cut-off date is September 17, 2001.  Check-in time is 2:00 p.m. and check-out time is 12:00 noon.  Breakfast is included in the rate.  Please call Holiday Inn directly at 334-264-2231 or fax: 334-263-3179.  Group Rate is under A.I.S.A. Group name.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY REGISTRATION:
Headmasters, please make sure that your teachers go to a variety of workshops.  It would be good for your school to have your teachers visit as many workshop sessions as possible in order to get information and handouts on a variety of topics.  They could then bring them back to your school and share with others.  There is only one group session this year. 

ORATORICAL CONTESTS:
District contests are scheduled for November 1, and the state contest on November 8.  This year's topic is: "The Influence of the ENTERTAINMENT Industry on Today's Society."  We anticipate great anticipation.  

ASBESTOS:

Headmasters check your Asbestos File for current status.  You should have a copy of a current three (3) year report and/or an asbestos-free statement on file.  If you need to update your Asbestos Management Planner status call 1-877-508-7246 for a schedule of in-service programs.

ATTENTION FOOTBALL COACHES:
Call 1-800-428-6633 after the game on Friday nights - report scores - state wide publicity.  Scores will be 
posted on The Spy's Web site.  Thanks - promote your program.

ADMISSION PRICES:
The following are AISA maximum gate prices:
Varsity Football - $4.00/person
Below Varsity Football - $2.00/person - one game and $3.00/person - multiple games.
Volleyball - $3.00/person

ATTENTION COACHES:

The AISA will use the Nike inflated football and basketball in all AISA sponsored  championship games.  The Nike football will be used in the Triple-Header at Troy State University this year.  The Nike basketball will be used for championship basketball games at Wallace Junior College, Faulkner University, and Huntingdon College 

BASKETBALL, BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL:

Evangel will be playing basketball, baseball, and softball in the AISA in 2001-2002 school year.  They will play in East 
Area I in these sports.

ATHLETIC AND GAME PASS REQUESTS:
Requests for passes are due at the AISA office NOW!  REMINDER:  NO ATHLETIC PASSES 
WILL BE ISSUED TO SCHOOLS UNTIL ALL 2000-2001 ARREARS HAVE BEEN CLEARED.


ATTENTION COACHES AND AD'S:
The Athletic Committee recommends that all schools submit a list of pass bearers to the home 
school for athletic events.

HEAD FOOTBALL COACHES: 
If your Master Football Schedule dates have been changed call the AISA office.  Make sure you 
have contacted your football Officials Coordinator and set all your home games dates for varsity 
and junior high games.

FOOTBALL STATS:  
To participate in the AISA Football Stats, a team must submit information weekly to the AISA 
office to the attention of Don Hand.  Start with the first game, and stay current, if you want 
your stats published.  If you have a question, call the office.

ATTENTION AD'S:
DO NOT DRESS AN INELIGIBLE ATHLETE
.  Reference rule II, page 5, and rule XIII, page 19,
in your current AISA Athletic Handbook.

EJECTION RULE:
AD's and Coaches, please review the AISA ejection rule with your players and coaches.  
Refer. Rule XIII on page 6 of the AISA Athletic Handbook.

Attention Football Coaches - Call your game results into the Montgomery Advertiser at 1-800-488-3579, 
The Birmingham News at 1-800-283-4024, and/or  your local media.  Try to get scores on the wire service.

ATTENTION AD'S, PLAN AHEAD:
The participation format for the following State Tournament is as follows:

Final Four Basketball Tournament
February 14 & 15 - Class A schools
February 15 & 16 - Class AAA schools
February 14 -  16 - Class AA schools

Final Four Baseball Tournament
May 8 & 9 - Class AA schools
May 9 & 10 - Class A schools
May 10 & 11 - Class AAA schools

West Regionals will be held in Selma on February 8 - 9.
East Regionals will be held at Faulkner University in Montgomery on February.


BASEBALL:
Paul's Baseball has been adopted for the 2001-2002 school year.

ATTENTION SOFTBALL COACHES:
The AISA will use the Worth "Red Dot" (Cord 47) yellow softball with high seams for the next year

VOLLEYBALL:
Faith Academy will host the State Jr. High Volleyball Tournament on October 20, 2001.  The top eight teams (won/lost pct.) will qualify.  Records must be called in to Woodie Head at 251-633-7267 by October 11.
