OVERVIEW

In consultation with colleagues in the upper school and Science department members, the science faculty member is responsible for teaching a full load of classes.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Teach 3 sections of general biology classes and 2 sections of honors chemistry.

Plan for engaging students in course content, course materials, and methods of instruction based on benchmarks and standards.

Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, collaborating with colleagues, and actively participating in professional development.

Participate in campus and community events.

Develop positive relationships with students and colleagues.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Be able to move heavy equipment, standing for long periods of time, walking long distances, operating computer and other office and classroom equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field from accredited university required; Masters or other advanced degree preferred.

Several years of experience preferred, but not required.
